the year I was born  
not to toot my own horn  
is considered a great year for port

that wine, though it's sweet  
and is quite a treat  
is drunk slowly, and after the torte

and so I have been told  
in a manner quite cold  
so I wondered if it was in sport

that I'm sweet, in small dozes  
otherwise it imposes  
and so limit, at most, to a quart
