brush the ashes from my head  
make me feel like yesterday  
quash the ever-present dread  
wash it off, splash it away

smooth the wrinkles on my face  
make me feel like yesterday  
soothe my worries, leave no trace  
youth long in the tooth today

kiss my drying lips today  
make me feel like yesterday  
bring back bliss, it's gone away  
miss you bliss, please come and stay
