# Personal Relationship

I doubt, and more than doubt on certain days.  
On others, I am grasping at the bible,  
and sing His glory with effusive praise,  
whenever I am focused on survival.

An easy bargain, trading on belief.  
You give me miracle, I grant you power.  
Then doubt creeps back, together with relief...  
Apparently, God hasn't struck my hour.

Are true believers truly in the know?  
Their preachers doubt, but reassure the benches  
that faith is not a trade, a quid pro quo,  
the kind that soldiers practice in their trenches.

My personal relationship with God?  
I struggle, but I sure do wish I had.
