out by the pillars of creation  
where stars are born: in their gestation  
they gather in all manner dust  
until it burns, as burn it must  
burns with desire to give light  
exploding outward with delight  
ha -- there it is, another twinkle  
what is God thinking, when he sprinkles  
these fireflies across the sky?  
we know the how  
not yet the why
