it's hard to be funny on purpose  
and more so if you have to stand  
it helps if there's somehow a surplus  
of jokes that they do understand

I've struggled with these very questions  
how best to present my own wit  
the answer -- for my comic sessions  
turns out, pretty simple -- I sit
