the morning comes  
my walk of shame  
down to the tree below  
the kids are playing  
with their drums  
the fireplace's aglow  
torn paper lying  
all around  
the dog awaits a walk  
the coffee maker  
is not on  
the phone says  
let's just talk  
another Christmas  
all alone  
another message  
on the phone  
common Rex  
let's go walk
