The prompt said, write something inspired by Homer  
I dug up my Iliad and Odyssey  
Reread the chapters I marked up in college  
Watched Troy and a bit of Spartacus  
Brad Pitt is amazing, but should Helen be blond?  
Got totally in the mood  
Looked up all the rhymes to Achilles  
Came up with the rhyming scheme  
Of course heroic hexameter  
Crushed through 50 beautiful lines  
Came back to the prompt  
Noticed the picture of the big fat donut
