moved by an image on TV  
we open up our credit cards  
contributing to charity  
to hide the hollows in our hearts  
to care is human, and we must  
“feels SO much better when you give”  
approval, that is what we lust  
the bread we hunger to receive  
and the forsaken? It’s their fault  
must be a reason why they’re cursed  
we pass them, souls that turned to salt  
and pay the toll, fearing the worst
