As Marvel superheroes roam the lands  
in search of carbohydrates stashed about,  
and candies, seized by little, greedy hands,  
exhaust supplies, an existential route,  
I wonder, is it Hallmark? They're to blame  
for this extinction of my M&Ms?  
Is there no limit, no proverbial shame?  
Their parents, from the Ganges to the Thames,  
do they no longer teach the little tikes?  
Take some, and leave some for the next to come.  
Have you seen candy prices? I mean, yikes!  
You'd think it grows on trees -- it does for some.  
Oh well, I sigh, replenishing the bag  
Don't mind me now, I'm just a tired old hag
