A wayward word snuck right into my poem
took residence, refused to even budge
You've seen their kind -- to love them is to know them
a word you cannot rhyme with -- what the fudge!
But if it says exactly what I want to,
how can I change it just to make things fit?
Not matter what I try, and what I've gone through...
Admit defeat? It's tempting, just a bit.
Occasionally, I'll rewrite completely,
make orange the new black just so it rhymes.
I love it though when poems work out neatly,
and I avoid committing verbal crimes.
