At the End of the Day

at the end of the day
criticize, come what may
but clichés serve a purpose, old chum

a familiar trope
kinda narrows the scope
so to me -- this is my rule of thumb

if served well by a phrase
then I'll cut to the chase
and I'll use it all day if I must

let the critics rejoice
so creative a choice
it is mine, yes all mine, boom or bust
