Basic Truths

When old Descartes set out to know
what "being" was about
He thought of every to and fro
But did settle on doubt

Doubt comes with its own paradox
You can't doubt that you doubt
These philosophic building blocks
Provided Descartes' route

You start with this truth, and the rest
should fall in place, old chum
Remember it, it is expressed
Cogito, ergo sum
