It's Bigger On The Inside

The metaverse does bridle at its cage
Trapped in my head, it’s found a way at last
My pen no longer needing to recast
Thoughts come unbidden, skipping the white page

Images flow, some frightening, some plain
Objects appear, and hover in mid-air
I need do nothing, I can only stare
And struggle to observe and to contain

Contain creation, do imagine that
I look at the invaders in sheer awe
Surreal landscapes I could never draw
Materialize like rabbits in a hat

I blink and the illusion disappears
And I am back, and staring at the screen
Wish that I could forget it, sight unseen
Or at the least, could wipe away those tears
