Putting On Hair

a critic, admiring Voltaire
and thinking himself debonair
had wanted a look
that no one mistook
for someone just lacking in hair

he searched long and hard for a wig
from horse hair and even from twig
none looked as good -- worn
as the one from popped corn
he named it his thingamajig
