Was it an apple or an orange
that William Tell shot off his head?
Perhaps a tangerine instead,
or better yet, a ripe old melon,
exploding as the chap was yellin’.
Perhaps. It’s easier to grapple
with rhyming about that red apple.
Certainly easier than orange.
