The Meta Sonnet

A sonnet to the sonnet I conceive
Our meta world requires nothing less
Shakespearean, and then I shall receive
Your accolades and love -- but I digress
Iambic in pentameter it is
Can't deviate, each stumble costs a point
but proper emphasis will bring release
the critics won't get mad or out of joint
ababcdcd -- the start
efefgg is how it ends
the rhyming scheme must truly play its part
succeed and you shall gather lots of friends
and thus the meta sonnet is revealed
it's form and function now forever sealed
