they come by ship
they come by plane
postponing life
for just a week
still in the grip
of their fast lane
a husband, wife
time's what they seek
a day or two
they've grown new skin
bathe in the sun
immersed in rum
and when it's through
they shed this sin
finally done
back where they're from
Author notes: wc 58 2. The long days seduce all thought away, and we lie like the lizards in the sun, postponing our lives indefinitely. https://allpoetry.com/contest/2786121-Quotes-from-By-Grand-Central-Station-I-sat-
