Poems

I asked the thunder:
do you ring
with echoes of forgotten wars
and dreams of plunder

it laughed me off
and said that it's just thunder
as lightning struck
and tore the peace asunder

I asked the rain:
do you weep
for fallen heroes
and for all the slain

it spit on me
and said that it's just rain
and turned to red
my prayers were in vain

I asked the sun:
do you light
a candle for the lost
remind us that we're one

it burned my skin
and said it's just the sun
what's one more holocaust
it's nothing new, begone

I had to ask myself

no answer came
and no one left to blame
