Poems

Horror is it, that you’re craving?  Surely you must know Wes Craven
Nightmares he has filmed aplenty, Freddy Krueger comes to mind
But of late it’s been Mike Myers – yes, the man never expires
Halloween has had its fires, fires that have not been kind
Plots that boggle, pause, rewinding…intricately intertwined
but Mike Myers pays no mind

And what of the Scream(ing) franchise?  Craven made those too, and plot-wise
They’re uproarious and funny, but reviews trail far behind
Halloween – well, it has Jamie.  Plot?  it’s surely cockamamie
But reviewers have been gushing, gushing as if they are blind
Hollywood’s machine is grinding, and rewarding its own kind
And Mike Myers was a find

A twisted tale of time and space
Pray tell me, what is in that case
We only see its inner glow
Rewind, review it, blow by blow
the words embrace

The music score maintains its pace
The watch’s tale, with a straight face
each line a masterpiece of flow
And in the end of it we know
that Zed is dead

Here there’s no cutting to the chase
One hitman lives by finding grace
Another dies, his tale of woe
a bathroom tale – dies on the go
Perhaps I know what’s in the case
and Zed is dead
