An AI for an Eye
volcano gets too many tourists
the monsters get too many likes
no, he's no longer for the purists
his henchmen even go on strikes
and so, conserving capital
Lord Sauron will go digital

Quetzalcóatl, failure total
double checks the date
his computer, made from pewter
and quite heavyweight
he can't take it, the mistake is
obvious to you
he was off by just one digit

I put a sonnet on my Tinder.
A lark, but much to my delight
It didn't stymie, block or hinder
those that would swipe, and swipe me right!
Now I hook up with poetesses
(and some that have impressive asses)
I judge them strictly on their verse
and I'll confess: I've seen much worse.
This has been great for my libido
In fact, perhaps a bit too great --
which I did not anticipate --
but if this poet has a credo,
it is that love must conquer all.
and so I answer every call.
Right and Wrong made a bet
Wrong said: they'll soon forget
and go on as if nothing was done
Right denied: it can't be!
it's the land of the free!
and for emphasis, showed Wrong her gun
nothing ventured or gained
Wrong would later explain
Right, as always, would honor the bet
which is just for one round
that's enough, and they've found
that the rest of us will soon forget
My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun
dark, brooding wells of ravenous desire.
One look and all is lost, too late to run;
too late when she consumes me whole, entire.
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun,
yet like a comet, I am in her orbit
A comet's tail to show off for the one,
in secret hopes the goddess will absorb it.
sunrise, sunset
music ends
they'll announce it
to their friends
fiddle sings away their sins
while for others, life begins

Folks in Eastwick hate their devil
Looking rumpled and disheveled
he materialized one day
shaking tail and holding sway
Soon thereafter he bewitches
these three... women, call them ladies
those grow too big for their breeches
and the visitor from Hades
generates all kinds of chaos
(no, don't call him Asmodeus)
the three ladies and their newborns
(lacking birth marks, tails -- and no horns!)
Fine if you will call them witches
all have fallen into riches
but the folks, they hate their devil
any one of of them will level
and they do have stuff to tell
Eastwick, they'll say, gone to hell.
Author notes: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094332/ A great movie and a great novel by John Updike
the wind picks up -- the clouds, thus chastened
make their escape beyond the hills
the moon, now unencumbered, hastens,
to manifest the promised thrills
soon, all is bathing in its glow
she came for this -- mouth forms an "Oh"
Dear Guinevere, what have we here?
You like Sir Lance a lot?
It's merely lust? Or a sincere,
hot feeling in your gut?
He took you on the table round
while Arthur's on a quest,
and his sword's nowhere to be found,
although you've tried your best.
Well, let me say, anaal nathrach
(no, no, not what I meant!)
I don't think Arthur's coming back
there's no need to repent
Look at the time, the hour's up
until we meet again
please do be careful with that cup
and say hi to Morgaine
Disney princess, feeling peevish
her love interest is thievish
what will Papa Sultan say?
fairy tale will have its way
Have no fear, our dear Aladdin
will transform from rascal, laddie
to a bona fide prince
just apply a wash and rinse
We could all use such a genie
but the universe, the meanie
or perhaps it is just wise
doesn't grant us, and denies
no, the princess won't stay speechless
and her desert is not beachless
and her plotline does not fail
since her life's a fairy tale
Three young maidens of some skill
knitting by the window sill
"Well, if I was a tsarina",
said the maiden that was thinner,
"I would make a Christian feast
for the world, from West to East".
"And if I was a tsarina",
said her sister, a bit meaner,
"I would, sitting on the throne
knit for everyone, alone".
"If I could be a tsarina",
said the last one, her demeanor
calm: "I would give him a son,
hero son if I'm the one".
